Darling Dogs - only three left

180 GBP

Ladies and gentlemen,
There are just three of these dogs left - each one completely unique with characters of their own. They are all made with British sheep's wool apart from Mr Selway who has camel wool and they're made using the needle felting technique.  I like to work my pieces until they become really solid - you'll be amazed at how far you can push the wool.
I dearly love making these, watching their characters appear bit by bit and often feel that they have a mind of their own.

We have Ms Smith and I have to say, I rather love Ms Smith.  She was inspired by a dog that came to my stall in late July, she had one of those faces that says 'Just love me!'  Ms Smith stands 11cm high at the tip of her nose and 16cm from nose to tail.

And next comes Mr Selway with his soft camel coat - Mr Selway was a little bit tricky to work on although he really doesn't look the type does he - I think he looks quite, quite mellow.  We camel is quite a fine, soft wool to work with but I just felt it was the colour I wanted him to be.  He's just a whisker short of Miss Lotus Flower's height at 14.5 cm.

And last but by no means least, we have Miss Newsom who is a long haired Dachshund - she got quite glamourous long hair and a particularly fine tail.  She's 11cm to the top of her eyebrows and 19cm nose to tail.

So, which one is your favourite?

All prices includes UK postage - if you are buying from overseas let me know and we can sort out the price to get a dog to you as soon as possible

I am a fibre artist working in rural Somerset and basically, I’m obsessed with beautiful British wool, it is my inspiration - it is at the heart of everything I do. Because of its fabulous eco-credentials and it’s diverse properties, I am able to sculpt with it or make it gossamer thin in order to make studies of the sea and passing moments, sketches in wool.

All of my work has an emphasis on the environment and sustainability.

In my small pieces, I needle felt into vintage containers; with these, I aim to create vignettes of the more elusive creatures of our countryside as seen in my recent exhibition, FIFTY BEES.

My larger pieces are concerned with the British coast. Using reclaimed materials, beach combed finds and combining them the wool, I aim to emphasise the legacy of man’s interaction upon the sea.

If you do fancy coming to say hello, this is where you’ll find me.
